1.                  How long is the homebuyer class?    The class meets for 12 hours.

2.                  If I take the class will I automatically receive down payment assistance?    No, assistance is based on several factors, including verifiable need.

3.                  If I miss one of the classes what do I do?    If you miss one of the classes you will have to attend another class before you can receive your certificate. Check the Education Schedule.

4.                  Does the certificate of completion "expire"?    No, the certificate is honored as long as funds are available and you are eligible.

Rehab "Home Repairs" Questions & Answers

1. Does LCDC repair mobile homes? No

2.                  What types of repairs are eligible?  Typically, our grants cover items that cause safety or health problems. "Cosmetic" items are not eligible.

3.                  What counties do you serve?    We serve Beaufort, Jasper, Allendale, Hampton and Colleton counties.

4.                  What is the Mobile Home Replacement Program?    Effective August 7, 2007 LCDC is only taking application for this program. (See Mobile Home Announcement)
